This Area is renowned for clean air and has the
salt lakes that you can bathe in. The lakes are said to be full of minerals and
beneficial to health. Blue flag beaches are everywhere on the Costa coastline,
this mark of high quality is known across Europe, it simply means that its
facilities are as good as it gets. Beaches include:
Torrevieja-Guardamar-Mata-Punta
Prima- Playa Flamenca- La Zenia- Cabo Roig. Spain on the Costa’s has become home to
many different nationalities from all over the world and the markets have become
a general meeting place for them all. The markets that take place in the streets
of the towns and villages are the best as there are more atmospheres and it is
where the Spanish go for their bargains. Some local markets include: Quesada,
Elche, La Mata, Benijofar and Orihuela.
Quesada is between Guardamar and Torrevieja, and has developed into a popular cosmopolitan area over the last 30 years, and has all amenities on its doorstep. It has its own Aqua Park, Country Club and swimming pool, and a championship golf course, as well as shops, restaurants and bars. There are also 5 other golf courses within a 20 minute drive. Torrevieja is 10 minutes drive and has stretches of golden sandy beaches, esplanade and marina. Torrevieja is renowned for its salt lagoons, now listed as a nature reserve, and is home to pink flamingoes and other species of wildlife. There are numerous fiestas around the region. Benidorm is 1 hour away, with amazing Terra Mitica a roman theme park, Mundo Mar a dolphin sea centre and not far is Guadalest a beautiful village.
